About
LGNDRY Apparel is a Boston-based clothing company that I started in 2016. It was based on an idea of legacy; who do you want to be remembered as when it’s all said and done. Back then, I wasn’t too sure of the answer, but the concept of legends has always fascinated me. Things and people whose impact have survived the test of time and still remain a critical part of our society’s identity. I knew I wanted to make something like that, something that would be remembered. Something that could be hailed as a cornerstone of Boston art. I launched my first design that year with high hopes and higher determination
It went terribly.
There were several things that I didn’t account for, and several more that I didn’t even begin to consider. The worst of all was with my mental health at the time, I didn’t give enough time for the idea to develop and get better, so when sales went flat immediately, I got depressed and gave up. It was in that period of time when IRRELEVANT was born. Through time, I realized that if I wanted something to succeed, I couldn’t ignore my periods of depression. Although cynical, those parts were just as much of me as the parts of me when I felt important.
The point of launching LGNDRY and IRRELEVANT under the same roof is to emphasize the fact that being yourself unequivocally is being legendary. To be legendary, to be remembered, you have to embrace every part of you, because most others around you won’t. As people, we often hinder ourselves in the pursuit of making ourselves more socially acceptable. But to be your greatest self, you have to be your full self.
And that message is what I hope to pass to you.
